I drink wine, and I write.
Some people drink and dance. Some drink and cry. Me? I drink and think—a lot.
Thoughts about love, sex, relationships, the things we say, the things we leave unsaid, and the emotions that swirl between them like the deep red in my glass.
WINE INFLUENCED is the result of all those thoughts, poured out not just into my journal but into this space, for you to read, reflect on, and maybe even relate to. This column isn’t just about the spicy, the messy, or the romantic—it’s about everything that makes intimacy real. The questions that keep us up at night, the love we fight for (or against), and the pleasure we crave but don’t always talk about out loud.
For as long as I can remember, writing has been my therapy. Journaling has helped me navigate the chaos of emotions and relationships, giving structure to the whirlwind of feelings that come with desire, heartbreak, passion, and everything in between. But why keep it locked away when so many of us are thinking, feeling, and struggling through the same things?
So, this is my diary in the open—sort of, lol. It’s raw, it’s honest, and it’s unfiltered (like a good bottle of wine). We’re going to explore love, lust, and life one thought at a time, with no judgment, just real conversations.
Whether you’re here to sip, nod in agreement, argue in the comments, or just find solace in knowing you’re not alone in your thoughts, I welcome you.
My name is Vanessa Omena, hoping to be your favorite columnist soon, and I go by @mediagirlienessa on socials (so let’s connect on socials too – I guess). Let’s drink. Let’s talk. Let’s be wine influenced together. Let’s enjoy this ride together. XOXO.
